This poster in a bookshop advertises gift cards for books, which are popular in Japan. I wonder if such gift cards are available in other countries too.

The title on the poster says, “When I get a book as a gift, it makes me feel like reading.”

Bricks-and-mortar bookstores seem to be doing quite well in Japan, unlike in the U.S. Near my office, a brand new bookstore just opened, so it makes me wonder why the industry can thrive here despite the onslaught of Amazon and digital books.
